Our Summer Elks Convention in Grangeville (May5-9) was a great success. ISEA President Steve Johnson turned the gavel over to newly elected President Dan Tackett. The 4 day schedule was chocked full of informational meetings about our state and national charitable activities. Useful information on increasing membership within our own Lodge was taken to heart and it will be shared with our B.O.D.
A couple of afternoons offered a fun, well attended, shooting venue. The golf tournament was sketchy, weather was generally miserable with wind and rain most days. I know my husband and I were not able to complete a round in the 3 days.
The Grangeville Lodge produced a nice convention, catered food, final, semi formal banquet had a very talented local band. Local townspeople were very welcoming and Bear’s Den RV park is definitely a nice place to park.
A very fun part of convention is meeting other Elks from our area and getting to know them. I encourage everyone to attend the Winter convention in Caldwell this November. ER Joel will be attending National Convention in St. Louis next month.
In addition, PER and Past State President Curt Neely was awarded the State Elk of the Year award. Congratulations Curt!
Respectfully, Jany Wineinger, Leading Knight.
