December 1947 — Elks Kids’ Christmas Party

In 1947, as in past years, a kid party for all youngsters in the jurisdiction of the Moscow Lodge was given by the lodge and Mr. Kenworthy at the Kenworthy Theater at 2:00 PM on Decemer 24th.  The members of the committtee in charge of this event were Howard Short, Chairman, Fred Goetz, M. Kenworthy, Bob Bonnett, Oscar Nelson, M. Hubbard and Kellly Cline.   All children under 14 years of age were invited.

This group of Campfire Girls gathered at the Moscow Elks Temple to fill the 1000 Christmas boxes with candy and nuts for the kiddies’ party held at the Kenworthy theater.

A few of the hundreds of children who attended the Elks Christmas Party at the Kenworthy theater linger around Santa at the close of the event.  Santa and his assistants gave each boy and girl a box of candy and nuts.  The theater was filled to capacity.  (Oz Thompson stood in for Santa.)
