We all had to remember how blessed we really are during this very non-traditional Thanksgiving. We may have not been able to gather with friends and or family but we can be ever thankful for what we do have and pray for this precious nation we live in.
With the return to Stage 2 dealing with COVID-19, upcoming Lodge events are going to be suspended or delayed for the immediate future. We are limited to a gathering of 10, for the time being, so our next Lodge meeting on the 9th will be “officers” only. Our annual Elks memorial night, with family of our departed members, will have to be suspended until a later date or until 2021.
Not all grim news. Work on our Greenskeeper house, for Cory and family, is progressing nicely. With outstanding volunteers and electricians, we anticipate the family will be back in very soon.
Thanks to Trustee Rich Gaylor for applying and receiving the Elks Grand Lodge Beacon grant.
Due to the pandemic, Beacon, Gratitude, and Spotlight Grants can all be used as direct donations to organizations providing COVID relief like V.A. hospitals, food pantries and veteran’s homeless shelters. The grant will be split between Sojourners Alliance and CHAS Health who work in partnership to provide crisis services on the Palouse. Good job Rich and Wayne.
If any of you are in crisis, need a ride or anything we can possibly help with, please let me know.
