May, 1949 — New Flags and Holders for Downtown Moscow

In the attached photograph, Exalted Ruler Loris Winn, of Moscow Lodge #249 (on the left), and Moscow Mayor Robert Bonnett of Moscow looked up at the new American and University of Idaho flags which the Elks had recently donated to the city.

With the new improved lights and poles which had been recently installed, the flags were deemed too dilapidated, and therefore the lodge furnished new flags for all the poles in the business section of town.  Following the donation all flags were of uniform size and color and the same height from the sidewalks.
