Moscow Elks #249 applied, and was awarded one of 600 Spotlight Grants given this year by the the Elks National Foundation. This two-thousand dollar grant is being used to provide and distribute bags loaded with personal items, some food items, warm winter accessories and other needs.
Tracy Dorigo, Shelley Anderson, Tami Quezada and Janey Wininger will be wrapping up the packing and delivering of the bags to homeless shelters and local law enforcement for distribution to needy veterans and other homeless. The bags themselves are embroidered with “Elks Care, Elks Share“.Thanks to our members who spearheaded this project. They will be filling the bags at the lodge Saturday morning, February 20th, at 10:00 AM. Any lodge member who wants to help us give back to our community is welcome to join them for this stage of the project.
