We are well into August and hopefully the heat wave is behind us. We have a number of events coming up that I would like to share with you.
Cart Path Tournament: Golfers can still sign up for the 4 person scramble scheduled for this Saturday, August 19th. This is a fun tournament that helps fund improvements to our golf course. There is a sign-up sheet in the bar area of the lodge or you can call the lodge office and let them know you want to play.
This year we are adding an Oktoberfest type meal for lunch – which includes a micro beer.
7-iron Tournament: This fun tournament has moved to Saturday, September 16th. Tom Scott is putting this tournament together again this year. Sign-up sheet should be posted in the lodge soon.
Fall Golf League: We are putting together a semi-competitive league for this fall. The plan is to have the league run from the first of September until the middle of October. It will be a two person scramble format and played on your own “any time” over each Saturday or Sunday. It will be handicapped play and we will figure out your handicap if you do not have one. Just play and turn your card into the bar. The cost will be $5.00 per couple, with prizes posted the following week. A sign-up sheet will be posted in the bar area next week. Remember, this is a two person scramble with any combination of players; ex: man/woman, father/daughter, grandmother/grandson, etc.
My favorite event of the year, our annual wine tasting party is planned for Saturday, November 4th. Be sure to put this event on your calendar as there is only room for 25 couples. Details will be coming out very soon.
Enough Elk droppings for today,
