4th of July

July 4th, 2018

The 4th of July is coming around quickly and it will mark the 242nd anniversary of our nation’s founding.  When the national Elks Lodge (Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks) was founded this nation was only 92 years old.  When the Moscow Elks Lodge was chartered as Lodge #249 it had reached its 117th year and in its 152nd year our golf course opened.

The Moscow Elks Lodge has been celebrating the 4th at this location since the Great Depression of the 1930’s, with the sole survivor exhibition beginning in 1950.  Join us for one more 4th of July at the Elks.

This year’s celebration will feature live music in addition to traditional activities.  Join us for music from “Beargrass”, free hot dogs and ice cream, a golf cart parade and the annual 4th of July Sole Survivor Exhibition.

Moscow Mayor and lodge member Bill Lambert will be leading the flag ceremony and sole survivor introductions.  Our own Kristie Mattoon will be singing our nation anthem.

Several winners of national Elks Lodge scholarships will be on hand to man the hot dog stand and join Mayor Lambert for the flag salute while meeting our members and guests.
