Elks BULLetin

Our Indian summer appears to have ended as the weather has gotten colder and the golf course is full of leaves.  We closed the bar and dining area last Sunday, October 28th for the season.  Trent will put out the honor box for golfers if we have any warm days in the next couple of weeks.  I would like to thank everyone who supported our Elks Lodge this year and we are looking forward to another fun year in 2019.

The Past Exalted Rulers organized a nice Oktoberfest on Saturday, October 13th.  The turnout was a bit small with 22 members enjoying the evening.  The menu was a traditional German theme with Heidi’s German potato salad being the hit of the evening.  The German beer was excellent and everyone enjoyed themselves.

The annual Wine Tasting Evening last Saturday, October 27th   was the best ever.  We had 29 very committed wine drinkers with even Jack Jones enjoying the wine.   Everyone endured the guessing game for the three mystery wines.  Merry Cellars Winery of Pullman donated three of their top wines to taste.  These special wines were a very nice treat for the evening.  We also had 9 great wines donated by members for our live auction.  I would like to give a special “THANK YOU” to everyone who donated the special wines.  Cheri Curtis did a fabulous job on the food table, her teriyaki salmon bundles were yummy.  We cleared over $750.00 this year, which will be used to purchase security cameras and a time clock for the lodge.  Thank you, everyone who attended – you are on the list for next year!

Enough Elk droppings for today,
