We are now in the middle of winter and time is sure going by fast, but I am sure for some of us we would like winter to end sooner rather than later. I have a few things to share about things that have taken place since my last message and on upcoming events.
We had our hoop shoot on January 5th, thanks for all those who volunteered. One individual, Cooper Owen, who shot 25/25 at our event, came in first at districts on January 12th. He will be advancing to the State competition in Nampa. I will let everyone know about his progress, good luck Cooper!
Thanks to Rick Sperry for applying for and receiving a $2,000 Gratitude Grant from Grand Lodge. Monies from this grant will be used to purchase food baskets, which will include one hot meal, and games for food and fellowship with some of the elderly in the Moscow area. We would like volunteers to participate in this endeavor. We are going to bring the elderly a food basket with a hot meal and spend some time visiting with them, which may include playing a board game. Anybody interested in helping out, please call the office at 882-2577 and speak with Wayne or Barb and they can pass along your information to either Rick or myself.
The Annual Crab feed is happening on Saturday February 16. I would like to see as many there as possible. This year we will have a special guest, Steve Johnson, the State President and his wife Pam. Steve has told me that he looks forward to the event and meeting the members of the Moscow Elks Lodge. There will be other guests there as well from the Nampa and Grangeville lodges. I hope to see you there.
